A long-established camera-systems specialist needed to evolve from a hardware-only business into a complete software platform. We built the modern software stack that pairs with their hardware — multi-tenant fleet dashboards, role-based admin, real-time vehicle tracking with OpenStreetMap, OBD-II vehicle diagnostics, driver scoring, and a complete REST API suite for vendor integrations. Running in production across thousands of vehicles since 2016.
What was broken.
The client needed to evolve from a hardware-only business into a full software platform without disrupting their existing customer base. They needed to handle real-time video streaming from thousands of in-vehicle units, process 150M+ daily GPS data points, integrate OBD-II diagnostics over Bluetooth, surface configurable driver-behaviour scoring, and let vendors embed the system inside their own platforms via APIs — all while keeping the hardware-software pairing rock-solid.
What we built.
End-to-end platform from device-server socket code through role-based dashboards (super admin, vendor admin, staff), native Android and iOS apps, and a complete REST API suite. Real-time tracking on OpenStreetMap, configurable driver-scoring thresholds applied to devices on next reconnect, FNOL video evidence for insurance claims, and a vendor licensing model so partners can resell the platform under their own brand.
